What an awesome trip! Upon arrival at FunQuest, we headed straight to the V.I.P. room to start our STEM activities. Our teacher, Lori, reviewed friction with the students then introduced them to the four different types - static, fluid, kinetic, and rolling. The students then did some reverse engineering with roller skates and applied what they learned about friction to the different parts. Our second activity allowed the students to use the skates on different surfaces to apply what they learned about the different types of friction. Finally, Lori challenged the students to think critically and creatively to design a skate with technology that would improve a skater's experience.
After that, the students had the entire facility to explore and have fun!
